Trio on Tuesday

We have a trio of baby fevvers in the knock-out rose bush by the front door.  We noticed the nest a few weeks ago, and saw the eggs...now we have babies!  These are baby mockingbirds.  They are just a few days old.

 They felt the nest rustle when I moved the branches a touch and they were expecting a meal!

They are quiet as can be at the moment, but I know it won't be long before they are chirping at mom...and since they are under my bedroom window, I will hear them!  I guess that's better than the bird that builds a nest in my bathroom vent every Spring!

Trio Tuesday

An oldie but a goodie...I love when I find the cats hanging out with one another.  Smokey has been smitten with Sophie since the day she walked into the house :)  Tanner fit right in when he came along and I would find the three of them laying together quite regularly.

This photo is from 2007.  Now Tanner has become more anxious and nervous around everyone.  I don't really know what has happened to create this attitude.  Has anyone else experienced a change like this?  How were you able to help the nervous one overcome his fears?  Tanner will lay with me and snuggle with Devon some, but I normally find him by himself upstairs in a bed alone.  We are currently trying Amitryptaline to see if that will help him, along with feliway and a calming collar.  Once our two month supply is used, I am thinking about switching him to another anti-anxiety to see if we get better results.

Here are Tanner, Smokey and Cousin Sophie all snoozing in my room...Cousin Sophie is in Smokey's new bed he got for his birthday, which is this Thursday.

Tasty Trio Tuesday

The boys enjoyed a tasty dinner of Sardines one night. I have had trouble finding them packed in water lately at the grocery, but finally saw them the other day.
Boneless and skinless are the best! And now with an easy open tab :)

The boys really enjoyed them...I was surprised Devon ate, since he can be a bit picky with canned type food, preferring his dry. I suppose it was because they were 'imported' that he felt they were elegant enough for his sophisticated pallet.

Do you get any kind of special treats for the holidays?

This week offered a few opportunities to capture three kitties in one photo...enjoy! Cousins Sophie and Pirate along with Tanner in the yard on Sunday afternoon. You can see just how quickly our snow was melting...the cats conveniently stayed on the non frozen ground!

I was thankful to have my camera ready last weekend when the boys gave me a great Trio shot. Smokey was in a frisky mood and claimed Devon's chair! Devon and Tanner just laid on the table. There were several birds out in the feeder for their entertainment.

Trio on Tuesday

Today's trio features Smokey, Tanner and cousin Sophie. Everyone loves to lay in the guest room.
Smokey enjoyed laying on this bed when it was at the townhouse too, so we call this Smokey's room. He is in here every morning when I leave to go to work.

I love it when I can catch groups of cats laying together...makes me feel good to know that they have a friend or two in the house.

This picture was taken many months ago, when the air was cold and down blankets were needed.
Everyone has a good spot...Devon loves that pillow, and lays on it every night when we watch tv. Side story here - This pillow was a favorite of a bunch of our foster kittens. They would lay on it and snuggle up to it. The material is almost like a faux fur or something and is very soft. We ended up buying several of these pillows from Target to send home with foster kittens. I'm sure those families thought we were nuts! Oh, here's your kitten and his pillow :)

Smokey loves a nest and the down throw is just perfect for him...nice and toasty warm!

Tanner likes his look-out spot from the back of the couch. We need to do something about the cushions....they are all getting squashed from the boys laying on them...anyone else have this problem? :)

It's rare to get a group shot, and especially hard to just get my boys, and none of the cousins. This isn't a great shot, but it shows the boys...
Devon is laying down in front, Smokey is standing, and then Tanner is in the back. The lower right corner is part of their stroller. It's been too hot lately to go for a ride...I need to hook an AC to it :)

PS - Tomorrow is Tanner's annual visit to the cardiologist at the Vet School. He gets real nervous, so if you could all send purrs to him that would be appreciated!
