Mancat Monday

The boys have enjoyed their week.  Lots of play time, and a cat nip party on Sunday.
One of the local rescue groups was having a fundraiser through Etsy, so we bought a few toys.  Harrison loves catnip toys, but I have to watch him because he likes to chew them up.  These toys are crocheted, so I don't want him eating long pieces of string, so I watch while they play, and then put them in a drawer when I'm not around.

Cousins Pirate and George.

Pirate will be 16 on Thursday.  He is on quite a bit of medicine for his arthritis and stiff back/leg.  He also goes to laser therapy once a week for his hip and knee.
Flynn loves this box from IKEA.  It isn't necessarily meant for cats, but what can you do?
Rusty and the panthers still love this wool and yak fur mat...

Our catnip party...The fresh nip has taken off in the garden!  Auntie had to move some to another location because it is growing like mad.  We are going to start attracting the strays before long!

That's our week and weekend in a nut shell.  Lots of fun all around.

Mancat Monday

Lots of photos in this weeks post.  I missed last week because I was in New Orleans for a work conference.  While that wouldn't necessarily be my first choice for a destination city, we all had a nice time and enjoyed a lot of delicious food!
Harrison enjoying a new cube style bed.  I put away Santa's Toy Shop and the Cafe, so replaced it with something else they could get in and hide.

Flynn, Harrison and Cousin George look like they are up to something...the size difference between Flynn and Harrison is evident here.  Flynn is about 6 pounds heavier than Harry.

Oliver helped me change the sheets...

Then we took a selfie...

Rusty, and all the boys, love this brown paper.  It's been in the floor for a few weeks now, and migrates around the downstairs.  Tonight, it is going in the recycling!

Rusty loves nothing more than to be washed by Oliver.  Oliver will oblige at times, but then can get a little rough with him.  Here's a sweet video of them...

Weekends are hard work...everyone is wiped out.  Here's Oliver.

Flynn loves to be vacuumed!

We are friends with two little boys (human) that love the cats.  Pirate is their favorite.  They are 6 and 8 years old.  The 8 year old asked if the cats all had their own mailbox for their letters?  We, of course, said no.  He explained to us how they should work, and asks about them every time we see him.  So, Auntie and I made mailboxes yesterday for all the cats.  Here are the ones for my four.  I think they turned out super cute!

Pirate has written a letter to one of the kids guinea pigs.  They were so excited about it!  The letter is hooked on her cage now.  We need to get busy and write the other two now.  This will be a fun summer project for us and a good learning tool for the boys.

That's all that is going on at our house...

Mancat Monday

The boys are doing well...here are some random pictures from the weekend...
Oliver has been playing and enjoying getting lots of attention lately.

Georgie posing for the the "portrait" mode on my phone...nice blurred background

Cute pink Rusty beans...

Rusty yawning...look at those sharp teeth!

Flynn, the goof, just sitting beside the washing machine :)

Proof that Harrison CAN eat hard food from the bowl if he is hungry!

Well, that's the gang.  All is well, and the boys are as silly as ever!

Mancat Monday

Oliver had a great time for his birthday.  He received several new catnip toys, and some new string toys too.  He was a happy boy!

Video of Oliver licking his new catnip toy.  Harrison comes over at the end to see what is going on.

Flynn and Cousin Georgie were reaping the benefits of new catnip toys too!

Here is a video of Flynn running down the hall.  He doesn't want to be left out of the party!

Oliver loves a certain mouse on a wire string toy.  We haven't had one for a while, so he was excited to see it again.  His signature move is a roll...watch it below.  This is more of a side roll, but sometimes he'll go straight over!

Well, there you go...Oliver had a great time for his birthday.  Thank you all for stopping by and sending him birthday wishes!

Mancat Monday - Product Review

The boys were contacted by an organization called Cat Amazing to give their product a test run.  Since the boys all love cardboard I thought they would enjoy this puzzle toy.

Although we were given this toy for free, the opinions are our own.
To start, the toy was very easy to assemble.  Everyone came over immediately to see what was going on, and also because I had opened the treat bag and loaded up the puzzle.  There are three sections to the puzzle, ranging from easy to most difficult.  Oliver stayed back a little because new things scare him at first.  He is such a drama queen!
Even, Cousin Pirate, who is 15 years old enjoyed trying to fish the treats out of the toy.

Flynn quickly lost interest.  He does not like to work for his food!

Cousin Georgie and Rusty were playing hard.  They were super excited when they got a treat!

Rusty thinking and trying hard to get a snack.  Love how this toy really challenged their minds!  I'd say they played for a good hour the first time it was put down.

On this video, you can see Rusty working hard for a treat and then eating one.  You will also notice Cousin Georgie doing what he does best and that is licking the cardboard.  After a week of play, the toy was rather soggy from his licking.  Someone also took to chewing the cardboard trying to make it easier to get the treats!  Something to consider if you have a cardboard chewer/licker at home.

Harrison came over later to see what the commotion was about.  He LOVED fishing for food.
He will sit next to it and talk if it runs out of treats!

Here's Harrison working for his treats.

Reminder, this toy can be purchased through Cat Amazing and on Amazon.

Product Grade...

Rusty - Four Paws Up
Georgie - Four Paws Up
Flynn - Two Paws Up
Oliver - No Paws, neutral
Harrison - Four Paws Way UP
Pirate - Three paws up (that's all he has!)

Mancat Monday

When my friends and I celebrate our birthdays, we give each other cat toys!  The mancats received some new things this weekend...
Flynn is hanging out in this handmade donut box!  It is from the Snow Leopard Trust and was handmade in Mongolia from wool.  There were 6 cute donuts in the box as well.

Flynn learning to be patient while donuts are stacked on his paws...it is hard for him to be still, so this will be a good exercise for him!
Cousin Georgie wouldn't look at the camera, but he enjoyed sitting in the box too!

Harrison also loved the box.  We also received wool balls and mice to play with.  The boys are enjoying it all!

Harrison decided he needed to sit in the window above Aunties shower on Saturday morning.  He had a great view of the birds from up there!  He was talking and Auntie picked him up and he scampered into the window sill.  She brought him down before jumping in the shower.
He decided he could just up there by himself, while she was showering.  He couldn't quite make it, and couldn't get a foot hold to climb, so Auntie pushed him on up and he sat there until she was done!

Rusty and Oliver are doing well too...they just didn't get any photos this week!

Mancat Monday

Rusty had a wonderful 1st birthday!
He got a new bed and some toys.  He refused to get in his bed!
I tried to play with him in the bed, but he wouldn't step in it!  Silly boy!  Still love his square snout...what a cutie!
Cousin Georgie thought the bed was great!

So did Flynn!

Rusty preferred an older bed upstairs...he was wiped out by the afternoon.  Sweet sleeping kitten, er, mancat.

Mancat Monday

The mancats have all had a great week!
Harrison has reclaimed his bed in the guest room now that our housemate has moved out!  He is so happy and full of himself!
Flynn is teaching Rusty how to ride in the stroller.  Sorry Flynn, you can't ride on the top when we are outside!
Catnip party!  l-r Oliver (on the hardwoods and hard to see) George, Rusty, Harrison and Flynn

Harrison hears a fly in the blinds...

Auntie comes and helps him...

Success!  Harrison eats the fly!

Hope you all are doing well.  Thanks for taking time to check in on our crazy family.

Mancat Monday on Tuesday

Wow!  Where has the time gone?  The mancats and I are just enjoying life!  This blog started to keep friends and family updated on medical issues with the boys.  Thankfully, everyone is healthy, and only going to the vet for routine stuff!  We like routine!  Now, if I can get into a routine of posting that will be great.
The panthers all enjoying the windows open a few weeks ago.  It is too warm now for open windows.
Flynn asking to play with one of his favorite toys.  The string is so short, and the toy is gone, but he loves it!
Our temporary housemate moved out and Harrison is super happy.  He was nervous around her, so it is nice to see him being comfortable again.
Oliver is king of the roost...or at least he thinks so!
Rusty is playing hard and enjoying morning snuggles.  He seems to be holding steady at 11 pounds.
Watching it rain...all the cats love this chair beside the french doors.  There are three bird feeders around the bush at the fence.
Harrison has been asking to swim more lately.  We ran the water until it was past his elbows.  I think the noise of the water running bothered him more than the height of the water.  He jumped out, but when we turned the faucet off, he came back!
Oliver and Harrison snuggling.  Harrison went and joined Oliver in the bed...his personality is coming out more since our guest left.

Harrison moved over to sit with Cousin Georgie. That bed is larger, so they had more room!

Well, that's it...the boys are enjoying life and are all healthy.
