Mancat Monday

Oliver had a great time for his birthday.  He received several new catnip toys, and some new string toys too.  He was a happy boy!

Video of Oliver licking his new catnip toy.  Harrison comes over at the end to see what is going on.

Flynn and Cousin Georgie were reaping the benefits of new catnip toys too!

Here is a video of Flynn running down the hall.  He doesn't want to be left out of the party!

Oliver loves a certain mouse on a wire string toy.  We haven't had one for a while, so he was excited to see it again.  His signature move is a roll...watch it below.  This is more of a side roll, but sometimes he'll go straight over!

Well, there you go...Oliver had a great time for his birthday.  Thank you all for stopping by and sending him birthday wishes!

Happy Birthday Oliver

Happy Birthday to my sweet and crazy Oliver Hughes!  You bring joy to our home every day.  You are a talker and like to announce your presence, or keep us informed of your location.  I love snuggling with you at night and hearing you purr.  You have been a bright spot in my life since the first day you came home.  Here's many more years with you sweet boy!

Mancat Monday - Hurricane Edition

Hurricane Florence is still trying to make her way out of the state.  Thankfully, her path shifted, prior to landfall, and did not make a direct hit on our city.  She basically went around us, but still brought many bands of rain and wind.
This was Rusty's first hurricane and you can see that he isn't too concerned.  We had a pretty steady, but slow rain Thursday-Sunday.  The winds came in gusts, so they weren't constant.  We had removed most things from the yard.  The trash can blew over a couple of times, I guess there wasn't enough litter in it!  The birds were still coming to the feeders, so we left them out.
The panthers (back to front Flynn, Harrison and Oliver) had plenty of food in the house, as did the humans.  We never lost power, although it flickered a few times.  The cable went out a couple of times, but would come back on after it reset itself.  We did not eat all of our snacks!
After having me home since Thursday, and Auntie since Friday, Oliver was done!

Last night and this morning, we had the worst storms so far.  We were already over 5 inches of rain at our house, so this deluge didn't help.  We had lots of heavy rain, thunder, lightning and now flooding around the town.  It took me over an hour to get to work, a normally 25 minute commute.  There were many detours and closed roads to navigate around.

I plan to leave early today to make sure I am home before it gets dark.  Down East the flooding continues, and those parts of the State could use your prayers and dry thoughts!

Mancat Monday - Rusty Edition

Rusty is doing much better and has fully recovered whatever had him feeling puny the other week.  He is back to eating and playing hard!  Today though, I will feature the softer side of Rusty...
This series of photos shows him sleeping and then doing a super cute stretch and curl.  Notice how he curls his back toes like Oliver.

Side note:  His feet smell like Smokey's

Sleep hard little fella...

Mancat Monday - Product Review

The boys were contacted by an organization called Cat Amazing to give their product a test run.  Since the boys all love cardboard I thought they would enjoy this puzzle toy.

Although we were given this toy for free, the opinions are our own.
To start, the toy was very easy to assemble.  Everyone came over immediately to see what was going on, and also because I had opened the treat bag and loaded up the puzzle.  There are three sections to the puzzle, ranging from easy to most difficult.  Oliver stayed back a little because new things scare him at first.  He is such a drama queen!
Even, Cousin Pirate, who is 15 years old enjoyed trying to fish the treats out of the toy.

Flynn quickly lost interest.  He does not like to work for his food!

Cousin Georgie and Rusty were playing hard.  They were super excited when they got a treat!

Rusty thinking and trying hard to get a snack.  Love how this toy really challenged their minds!  I'd say they played for a good hour the first time it was put down.

On this video, you can see Rusty working hard for a treat and then eating one.  You will also notice Cousin Georgie doing what he does best and that is licking the cardboard.  After a week of play, the toy was rather soggy from his licking.  Someone also took to chewing the cardboard trying to make it easier to get the treats!  Something to consider if you have a cardboard chewer/licker at home.

Harrison came over later to see what the commotion was about.  He LOVED fishing for food.
He will sit next to it and talk if it runs out of treats!

Here's Harrison working for his treats.

Reminder, this toy can be purchased through Cat Amazing and on Amazon.

Product Grade...
