Tummy Tuesday and an Award

Combining two posts into one today...
Smokey is showing off his cute tummy for us...
Closer shot...you can also see some precious coffee bean toes :)
Full stretch tummy exposure!!

Now on to our newest award...presented to us by MishKat. We are so honored to have been selected.
This is the human addition of this award...here are the rules:

1) Thank and link back to the person who gave you this award:
Thanks the cats and bean at Mishkat blog. This is a witty blog documenting the lives of Franklin, Dobby and Miss Tasha.

2) Share 7 things about yourself, and this needs to be the human...
  • I work for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill...go Tarheels! I also graduated from here and started working for my department when I was a student. That experience led to a full-time job.
  • I love to read, and my favorite authors include: Debbie Macomber, Rita Mae Brown, Donna Andrews, Michael Crichton, Leann Sweeney, JK Rowling.
  • My dreams include, owning a beach house, living in a small downtown apartment above a bookstore that I own, running a bed and breakfast, or starting a hospice facility for older cats with special medical needs.
  • I enjoy cooking and watching the Food Network
  • My trip to Japan in 2008 was the first time I had left the country. I hope Europe will be my next foreign excursion!
  • I love facebook and spend way too much time playing games on there. My favorites are Mafia Wars and Frontierville.
  • My biggest fear in life is that something bad will happen to my boys and they will suffer and wonder why mom isn't here to help them.

3) Now to pass this along to 5 other bloggers...

If you've already had this award, don't feel obligated to do it again...if there are other bloggers out there that would like to take this award, please feel free!!

  1. Congratulations on your award. It's always great to learn more about the person behind the blog.

Mum says she shares you fear. When Thomas went missing mum would cry herself to sleep every night imagining him either injured or trapped somewhere where he could hear mum called him and he would be there crying for her and mum couldn't hear him. We're so glad he came back!

  2. Congrats on your award!!! What cute toes and tummy!!!

  3. Congratulations on the award!

I have the exact same fear about my cats as your last point. I worry that if they got out of the house by accident they would be alone, lost and scared and wonder where their mum was and why they couldn't find their warm beds....my gosh the things we do to ourselves!

Love those pictures of Smokey...his toes really do look like coffee beans :-)

  4. ConCats on your award! Loved learning more about the mom's and dad's on here!!!

  5. Smokey has a great tummy! Concats on your award and thanks for passing it on to us!

  6. Congrats on the award! And I am with you on worrying about our babies - I am always like that too.

And Smokey, what a cute tummy you have - and those are some adorable toesies too!

  7. Hi Smokey! We loved learning more about your mom! We think her dreams are wonderful. And our mom says that is one of her biggest fears too - it is hard for her to leave us to travel because of this.

P.S. Go ACC! Our mom works at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!), but went to school at University of Maryland (go Terps!) She has worked at universities all her life and really likes working in academia - except sometimes during student move-in (starts tomorrow here - yikes!)

  8. Congrats on the very nice award and thanks for sharing it with us! I really enjoyed reading about you!!!

  9. Mommy loves coffee bean toes! We see Smokey has bald heels just like Rupert. We can't figure that out!

Mommy is currently reading Georgette Heyer books, the Original Regency Romance writer. Her books are fantastic! Mommy reads a lot of the same authors that you do; give GH a whirl sometime.

ConCats on your award, we always like to learn stuff about our pals.

  10. Awww gorgeous Smokey has adorable coffee bean toes!! And what a velvety tummy!! Gorgeous!

Congratulations with your wonderful award and thanks for sharing these 7 things about you! Japan must have been amazing! I hope your trip to Europe will be as memorable! I hope one day you get to realise your dreams!

    Take care

  11. Love to read about you! Congratulations on your award--and coffee-bean toes? I am so jealous!

Julie says some of her happiest times were in North Carolina. Greensboro and Asheville memories come back every so often, esp. when someone is from there! She's had dreams of a place over a bookstore, too (or over a consignment shop!) Hope your dreams come true--at least one or two!

  14. Congrats on your award! We enjoyed learning more about you!!
