Weight Loss Wednesday

Well, we missed a couple of Weight Loss Wednesday posts over the holiday, but never fear, Tanner was still losing weight!  I believe we had one week where we gained, but we are down again...

Drum Roll......

Tanner has now lost over 4 pounds!!!

Current weight is 15 lbs, 12 ounces!

Tanner still loves Ollie...they share this bed many evenings.  Not sure how much longer they will both fit though!  Ollie is growing faster than Tanner is losing!
Nap time with brother is special!

For Tanner's success in reaching the 15's he is getting a pack of spring toys, and a new egg for his hard food.

I am going to the vet on Saturday with Ollie for more shots, and so I'll speak with her about Tanner's weight loss plan.  I think we should continue losing some weight, but don't want to get him too thin.  I like a cat to have a little bit of cushion or reserve on them, so they have some wiggle room if they get sick.  What are your thoughts on this?   What is your preference with your own cats?

  1. YAY Tanner!!! Love the picture of them snuggled up together.

Mom says she is all for a "little" padding. In our case, most of us are fine...Maestro is old and lost most of his. Ivy could stand to loose a couple. And Mo is our skinny boy that mom worries about.

  3. Concats to Tanner! We love those shots of Tanner and Ollie, with Tanner's paw over Ollie. :-)

As for the weight, our human is of the same mind that you are--a bit of extra padding is better. However, she says OUR padding is 2 - 3 pounds too much!

  5. Tanner has done a GREAT job on his weight loss! I am way thin, and my human worries because I have NO wiggle room if I get sick - I'd immediately have to be IV'd for nutrition. Binga and Boodie are well within normal weigh range - they are medium sized girls between 9-1/2 and 10-1/2 lbs., and while they SHOULDN'T lose any, they are fine.

  7. Well done Tanner! Mum agrees, a little bit of extra weight doesn't hurt. I am quite slim really but have a thick springy coat so it doesn't show. Eric was overweight but a change of diet got 4lbs off him and he was much more active afterwards.

  8. Way to go, Tanner!! My mom would like to see me lose a pound or so, but I think I look good just the way I am!
