Frenemies

Tanner and Pirate are what I would call Frenemies. They seem to love to antagonize each other on a daily basis. They have a routine now...so I think they secretly enjoy tormenting the other one.

Example One:
Pirate gets brushed in the mornings by Auntie. Tanner and I play in the hallway, or in the kitten room. Tanner blocks the door, so Pirate can't get out of Aunties Room. Pirate then lays on the stairs, so Tanner can't get by. Tanner runs by anyway, and Pirate chases. Both boys get called down. Every morning!

Example Two:
Pirate goes into the litter box. Tanner comes over and blocks the door. Pirate runs by, Tanner chases, both boys get called down.

I think they secretly like one another, but they are picking on each other all the time it seems.

Do you have frenemies at your house? How do you handle it?

  1. I think we do have some frenimies here. But it is hard to say there are so many members of this family. We have two that like to chase everyone and they do get called down. One is a year older than the other and he has stopped chasing a little bit. It is interesting to see who gets along with who. Have yourselves a super week end.

  5. Baby here. Jack and I are littermates, and he is dominating (less so since getting sick), and I think he liked the chase. It revved him up. I liked it if I could get a good move in on him (I have more agility), but most of the time it got irritating for me.

  6. We are the best of friends most of the time, but sometimes we have to put on a show for our mum and dad.

  10. Oh, yes! All three here are frenemies, but Pooh aggravates the Patches and Snookums more than they do her. They seem to have times they are frenemies and other times they more or less ignore each other. They never play together. Hugs and nose kisses

  13. Sylvester and Felix are that way, it usually ends up in a rousing game of Chase. Although sometimes Felix gets hissy so we intervene with the water bottle.
