Mancat Monday

Hello all, it's been a while again, but the mancats are all doing well.
Pumpkin is gearing up for a trip to the beach with me and Auntie in September.

It's been a month of vet visits...every mancat and Pumpkin have gone in this month!  Charles was not impressed, but he is healthy and good for another year.

Charles tries to hide in the carrier.  I hate that my boys get so nervous!

Pumpkin's food is growing...these are her roaches.

Charles loves to play with this mat...such a cutie!

Cousin's George, Izzy and Lenny all went to the vet as well.  George needed a mast cell tumor removed and ended up with 14 staples and the cone of shame!  He terrified poor Charles.

Pumpkin checking out her beach tent...the sides are mesh, so she'll get plenty of fresh air, and the top zips so we don't have to worry about sea gulls.

Rusty and Charles love playing pokey stick.  Rusty went to the vet to have his toes looked at.  They are just crusty, so I have some mousse to put on them each day.  This is the second time poor Rusty has gone in for being dirty!

Harrison isn't happy, but should be done for another year now!

Flynn had two vet visits, his annual and then a recheck at the dentist.  He will be going in December for a dental cleaning and images.

Pumpkin needed her toe nails trimmed, which she didn't mind.  They are so small, I am still uncomfortable doing it myself.

One angry girl!

She did not appreciate getting her blood drawn!  Her blood work is all good though, but she did have some protozoa in her poop.  She did Metronidazole for a week, and I need to take a sample in for testing.

Busy times but we are all healthy and doing well.  Thanks for stopping by to check on us!

Mancat Monday

Happy Monday everyone...the mancats are here for another episode :)  Everyone is doing well.
Auntie and I along with some family members went to the Jimmy Buffett concert this past Saturday night in Raleigh.  It was beyond amazing!  We haven't seen one of his concerts in several years, so it was a nice treat.
Aunt Jan had us all wear grass skirts :)  She is one of our favorite aunts!

Pumpkin enjoyed some time outside in the sun

We have baby birds in the birdhouse.  So exciting.  There appear to be 6 of them.

Charles got some wool eggs for Easter.  He has also stolen my chair on the porch!

Charles loves Pumpkin...he tries to stay near her when she is downstairs.

Pumpkin decided she liked walking in the grass...
Charles injured himself when the painter was at the house.  He has to go again today for another recheck to make sure it is healing correctly.

They tried to give him a bandage, but he was too smart for them...

Smug Charles has removed the bandage in about 20 minutes at home!

Native Columbine are pretty this year in the garden.

Well, there you have it.  Harrison, Flynn and Rusty are all doing well.  Thanks for stopping by to catch up on my family.

Mancat Monday

Wow where did the year go?  This post will be photo intensive, but I'll start by saying everyone is doing well!
Charles loved the porch during the summer months.  He has grown into a super handsome boy.

He loves his mama snuggles and I love them too!  He nurses on this blanket and purrs up a storm.  He is a sweet baby.
Growing up and getting new adult teeth. (September)  He had his neuter in August and did well with that.
Pumpkin has had an interesting year.  She loves to sit and look out the window in my craft room/home office.
Charles loves to dangle his arms!

Flynn continues to do well.  He had a pretty boring year until November...

Pumpkin went to visit Santa!  I would normally have taken Charles because that is what kittens do their first year, but he is a shy and nervous boy, so he lucked out.

Rusty has had a boring year and is just loving life!

Flynn had a dental procedure in November and lost 7 teeth.  He will continue to visit the dentist yearly for monitoring.  She feels he will lose his two upper canines in a couple of years because they are being pushed out of their sockets.
Here you can see which teeth are missing now.  Thankfully, they were all pretty small teeth.  Flynn did well with his recovery.

Pumpkin had surgery the following week on December 4th.  She was spayed and also the vet wanted to take an exploratory look to see if we could figure out why she isn't growing and eating.  Her liver was the wrong color, so biopsies were taken.  It came back showing something called vacuolar hepatopathy.  There aren't a lot of blood work tests you can run on a reptile, so looking for issues with her endocrine levels or other hormones isn't possible.

She also started getting acupuncture to try and stimulate the appetite and heal the liver.  After three rounds, she ate a few wax worms on her own!  She has gained 13 grams as well, so we are all pleased!
Before her surgery, she did a few paintings...
Here is her first one...

Cousin Lenny gave us all a scare in October.  He collapsed one evening and having trouble breathing.  Rushed to the emergency vet and his heart was in some awkward rhythm.  We asked if he could be transferred to NC State Vet School, and luckily we got him in.  They had refused us when we called at first because that is our preferred emergency location.  Covid has caused reduced staffing and in my opinion put a lot of animals at risk because they can't always get the help they need.  Rant over, Lenny ended up getting a pace maker put in and is now doing well.

Charles enjoys this hammock on the condo on the porch...

Pumpkin dressed like a turkey for Thanksgiving.

Charles has the cutest markings...

Auntie and I completed our conceal carry course in July and both passed the shooting portion.
Charles loves Pumpkin...sometimes too much!

Current photo of Charles napping in Aunties bed with the sun coming in and flannel sheets!

Well, there you have it!  A LONG overdue update on the Four Crazy Cats!

Mancat Monday

Things are going well with the Four Crazy Cats.  We certainly can't complain about life right now.
Charles is growing and loving life

He is a cutie pie and definitely recognizes me as 'mom'

He loves to play!

Rusty is watching the neighbors dog...

Pumpkin enjoys getting on the porch

Flynn is making sure Charles doesn't eat his food.  My biggest and smallest together.

Charles is learning some bad habits...he loves ice cream and mashed potatoes!

Flynn enjoys porch time as well and naps out there most every day.

Charles and Pumpkin.  They aren't as close as the look.

Wondering if I am eating anything he needs...no Charles, you need to get in the floor!

Charles graced us with some roundworms, so everyone had to be dewormed again!

It's been one year since Oliver left me so abruptly.  I still miss that boy something fierce.

Cousin Teddy and Charles love to play together

Pumpkins new tank and stand.  She is loving her new home and has eaten a few bugs on her own!

Well, there you have it...always an adventure for the Crazy Cats.  I promise Harrison is still with us...I don't know how I keep missing him in the photos!
