Thursday in the Garden

Today in the garden we have Smokey, who was the elusive cat in yesterdays photo...many of you found him, standing behind Cousin Sophie!!
Smokey says the Black-eyed Susans are still looking pretty...the birds love these flowers.
The basil has seen better days...although the bees love the blooms! Watch out Smokey, don't get stung...
Mr. Bell Pepper is still producing...we have many peppers in the freezer to use this winter...he did a great job for us this summer...he loves the hot weather!

Here's a short clip of Smokey checking out the yard...he and I were the only ones out there, so he came over to make sure I was still ok...such a sweet boy :)

For more great gardens...check out the Society of Feline Gardeners.

  7. What a lovely gardening post, Smokey! You did a great job patrolling the yard and keeping your mom safe.

I must say, your garden still looks marvelous -- you must live in a warmer climate. Everything's already dead or dying here (plantwise, that is)!

  9. Thanks for the pawsome garden tour. Your green peppers look great! We have tried a few times to grow them here, but we just don't have enough hot Summer days this close to the beach. We love the video too!

  11. Nice job Smokey! Here's my tip for keeping the basil producing lots of tasty leaves....when the flower buds start to form, have your mom pinch them off! That way the plant puts energy into the leaves and not the flowers. You can also nibble off the flowers to help!
