Today, we are going to show two shots of Smokey. He is feeling left out, as we have been focusing on Tanner lately.
Health Update: Smokey is doing well. His bloodwork came back normal in August at his annual visit. He still needs to gain a bit more weight, but he has increased the last two weeks, so we are pleased. It is hard trying to offer him special treats, and remind him to eat, because Tanner thinks he should be getting something too! To encourage the eating, he is taking appetite stimulant pills.
This is Smokey in the purple puff...a favorite napping spot for both boys...One of Smokey's problems now is that is sleeps so hard and so much that he forgets to get up and eat. It is important to wake him up a few times a day (when we are home) and remind him, or show him the food. Are others of you with older cats seeing this pattern?
This picture is where Smokey sleeps at night...yes, that is my pillow and he is taking more than his half!
Well, that's it for Smokey...overall, very pleased with him. He is my love and such a sweet boy.
Awww lovely Smokey! You forget to wake up to eat! LOL! Awwww that is so adorable!! Glad you got mum to remind you!! Take care

We're glad he's doing so well.
ReplyDeleteWe're yet not old enough to forget to eat. Ha. Our human wishes she could sometimes forget to eat, though. :-p
So happy that Smokey is doing well. Yes, we have an older kitty, Smudgie. I have to find her a few times a day and give her some canned food. We cannot leave food out because Pibbs eats it all and he is not allowed dry. The diabetes is back and dry food is not good for that.
ReplyDeleteI am picky and I graze, which makes it difficult because Binga and Boodie eat twice a day and hoover their food - and Binga thinks she should get whatever I'm eating! I just let my human figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI am glad Smokey is doing well.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad Smokey is doing well. We never sleep through a meal
ReplyDeleteSo glad Smokey is better. I love the shot of Smokey with the purple puff. Priceless!
