Mancats, especially Tanner, love to chew on plastic bags...

 This is a bag of bird seed...Auntie was filling the feeders...

 Tanner loves to chew on the bags...he always seems to know when they bags are out of the cabinet!

Frozen Friday

Smokey shows us that it doesn't matter if you are Six or Sixteen, sometimes you just need to play with an ice cube!  You go Smokey!

First, I'll give it a good sniff...

 It's not moving...what should I do now?

I know, I'll whap it with my right paw...

 Then, I'll whap it with my left paw...

I might need a little help here...what's this thing supposed to do again?

Visitor in the Garden

It's been a while since we've done a garden post, but things have been happening!  One day, we'll have mom get out there with the flashy box and show you.  Today though, we'll settle for a shot from inside at our visitor.  This is Buddy the squirrel.  He comes most everyday and enjoys eating from our bird feeders.  For some reason, eating upside down is preferred...maybe this helps him stay trim.  We should have Tanner try that out!

Toysday Tuesday

These are my favorite toys at the moment...I love this butterfly on a string.  It is made of a celophane materials and makes a nice noise as it flies through the air.  Mom brought it back from Japan with her...I love to talk to it and jump for it! 

I also love this catnip fish toy.  It is one of the toys we got from a special friend for Tanner and Smokey's birthdays...they don't mind that I've taken it over though.

Tabletop Tuesday

Before Easter, we steam cleaned a couple of areas of the carpet.  This tent had to be picked up, and was placed on the dining room table.  Later, I found Smokey camped out inside!  What a great view from up here!

Mancats know how to party

Saturday was Smokey's 16th birthday.  Thank you everyone who came by with good wishes!  We did a group party because all the boys have special birthdays this year...

Tanner turned 10 last week, so he is now in double digits!

Smokey is 16, a pretty big deal!

Devon will be 11...he loves that it rhymes!

So we celebrated everyone with a small party!

 We made cupcakes in the boys colors...Purple, blue and green

We even broke out the undercover mouse and Smokey had a go with it! 

The boys received many catnip toys and yummy canned food as well from friends.  It was a fun party for all!

Happy Birthday Smokey

Smokey, today we celebrate you! I am ever thankful that you are a part of my life.  We have been through a lot together, and I cherish everyday and every memory - those made and still to be made!

Smokey has lived with me for all but the first 6 weeks of his life
Smokey loves to snuggle and rest his head on my shoulder
He will only talk when he wants something, or on the way to the vets office
He has an amazing purr
Smokey shares my pillow with me at night, and sleeps with his feet on my head
Smokey has really become brave as he has aged...he used to hide with people came over, but now others can hold him!
He can open the bi-fold closet doors
He used to open my dresser drawers and pull clothes out (but I have a new dresser with heavier drawers now)
He is just an ok pill taker...we prefer to get his meds as injections if possible
Purple is his color
His nicknames are Goose, Smoke Smoke, Gorgeous, and Tinker Winker (actually, all my boys are Tinker Winkers :)
He is the best one about getting his nails cut
He loves to have his belly rubbed
He is my special boy and I love him dearly!

Devon (in front) climbed into this bed with Smokey.  This is a favorite spot of the boys in the morning because the sun moves right past this window. 

Mancat Monday

Thank you to everyone that came by and wished Tanner a Happy Birthday on Saturday!

We also want to thank Ann at Zoolatry for creating this wonderful new background and header for our blog!  We love it, and think it brightens the place up a bit :)

 Tanner got some new catnip toys for his birthday, and a new green ball.  He's checking out his toys...loving the green pillow the best.

 We also brought out the Undercover Mouse toy...it is a huge favorite, but we put it up, so it stays fresh :)  You can see Devon has taken over the catnip rocket in the background.

We played with Tanners favorite sting toy...the attachment is long gone, but it's the string he loves anyway...go baby go!

Being 10 makes you an active Mancat...nothing slows this boy down :)

Happy Birthday Tanner

Tanner, today is your special day.  We are going to celebrate you and all the wonderful things that make you who you are.  I am so thankful that I was able to keep you as a kitten.  I feel so blessed!

10 Things about Tanner

1) Tanner loves to play and will come and get you when he is ready.  He'll speak to you, look to see if you are following and then sit by the toy he wants to play with.
2) Tanner loves to eat
3) Tanner loves to snuggle on the couch...he normally doesn't sit in your lap, but will prop himself up on your legs.
4) Tanner loves to snuggle in the bed...he lays right up next to you, or on you.  He doesn't mind if you need to move, he'll just readjust himself when you stop moving.
5) Tanner loves to help make a bed.
6) He is the most vocal of all my boys
7) He loves catnip toys and will lick them until they are soaking wet...sometimes we have to take toys away in the night!
8) Tanner gets the dirtiest ears of any of my boys...he is affectionately known as the crusty boy!
9) He is a great pill taker, which is wonderful because he takes 5 a day.  4 for his heart, and 1 for anxiety (we'll have a report on this new med next week, fingers crossed everyone)
10) Tanner's fur is soft like a rabbit.  He has the shortest hair of my boys and the softest.

Tummy Tuesday

Tanner just loves this purple puff.  I recently washed it, so it's taken a while before they'll get back in it.  It really puffs back up in the wash and of course smells too clean :)  I love how they can really squish down in the puff...and yes, Tanner has unevenly squished it down! 

He's going to have a head rush when he gets up!

 Seriously mom, I'm trying to nap here...the flashy box is blinding me!

Devon was in the other room sunning in a window.  This is another favorite bed of the boys.  Biggify to see his pink tongue :)  Caught in a yawn!

Mancat Monday

Smokey has been doing so well these days.  His allergies are a bit flaired up, but we are controlling them with anti-histamines.  He is eating well, and now weighs 9 lbs 8-1/2 ounces!  I am so proud of him!
