Mancats Love Fresh Air

These pictures might be from a few months ago, but this is how we spent our weekend...Mancats love fresh air!
It was a gorgeous weekend here in NC, and we took advantage of the warmer weather and opened the windows for the boys. Everyone slept so hard after getting all that fresh air!
We do hope the colder weather will return as we are not ready for spring yet...some of you might think that is crazy, but here in the South, summer follows with a vengeance and we do not like the hots!
It's nice to get the house aired out...and hear the birds outside. This window is a favorite spot because in the tree there are a few suet feeders...lots of birdies hand out near this window!
We hope you all had a great weekend too...

Annual Performance Review

As the Four Crazy Cats, we collectively decided to give our mom 4 Paws Up for her participation in our blog in 2010. Here we will break down how we came to that rating...

Quanity of Output - Although mom did not post everyday, we felt she did a good job of being consistent with the posts. 3 paws.

Quality of Output - Mom was very attentive to our needs and desires for posts. She kept the content interesting and relavent to the readers. We were allowed to help with each post. 4 paws.

Client Pawticipation - We were allowed to have a couple of contests this year. We hope to have more of those in 2011....4 paws.

Pawticipation - We participated in many fun activities through the blogsphere and other blogging friends. We loved the special events and plan to participate again this year. 4 paws.

Client Satisfaction - Smokey says there should have been more posts dedicated to him because he is the reason we have readers and only gave 2 paws. Devon thinks Tanner had too many posts about him...just because you are the fattest cat in the house, doesn't mean you get the most attention. Beauty should be more important than fat! 1 paw. Tanner was happy with his coverage but doesn't feel he should have to share with the others...3 paws.

Overall rating - 4 paws. Although there is room for improvement, we felt mom did a great job of representing what was going on in the house. She tried to evenly post about us all, even mentioning the cousins and Angel Mojo at times. We want to post more regularly, and we are working with mom to get her routine down a better.

Thank you all for continuing to support our blog by leaving comments. We have enjoyed getting to know you all...

Foster Flashback

Pirate started out as a foster kitten. He had a peg leg and that's how he got his name. He was born this way, so it didn't really hinder him at all. The only problem was he would bang it on stuff when he jumped, so we had it removed. He does much better without the stub of a leg to slow him down.
Here is he as a kitten...He went to a couple of adopt-a-thons with our rescue organization, but he was so ornery. He would scream if someone touched him, like they were killing him. He was not trying to 'sell' himself :) It worked though...my sister, Auntie kept him.
Today Pirate is a happy mancat, almost 8 years old. He is at the vet today getting his teeth cleaned. We would appreciate some purrs for him.

Mancat Monday

Devon loves to be a part of the action...whether it is watching tv, cooking dinner, or simply helping with the dishes.

Floofy Friday

Since I have all short haired boys, I normally don't get to participate in the Floofy Friday. Devon felt this was not right, and so below he is demonstrating his ability to be floofy. Enjoy!

Dancing Devon

I was trying out the sport mode on the camera the other night during playtime. Devon loves to be dramatic when he plays...so I got some funny shots of him! He loves to stretch straight up and try to get the string...he rarely gets his hind legs off the ground.
Zombie Cat!

I love this shot because you can see Devon's old man underarms and his white bikini :)

PS - It's hard to get a good photo and be playing at the same time!

Mancat Monday

This photo was taken several weeks ago when we were undecorating from Christmas.
Smokey shows us that...

Mancats are acrobatic...he can balance in this box, filled with ornaments, without breaking a single one!

Mancats are athletic...he jumped into this box from the floor...it was several feet high.

Mancats love to decorate...or in this case, undecorate.

Mancats are helpful around the house...he was showing me there was more room in this box for many more ornaments.

Mancats are encouraging...just look at that sweet face...I can see him saying...go mom go!

Well, there you have it...who know a photo could show us so many things at one time!

Thursday Tragedy

Can you believe it? Our X toy has broken...the horror of it all! We are pleading with mom to find us another one...and soon!

Tanner Tuesday

Today we take a look at Tanner...he was bottle raised with one of his sisters. There were four kittens in his litter, but two went to a different foster home. Tanner has lived with me since he was 13 days old. We have been through a lot, and I am happy to be his mom! Tanner as a teenage kitten (6-8 months), playing on the treadmill...look how skinny he was!
Another Tanner as a kitten...he was about 5-6 months old here and not feeling well. He had a temperature and so just laid around. I couldn't take his temperature, so I drove him daily to another lady's house so she could do it. I finally broke down and bought an ear thermometer! I can do a lot of things medically to a cat, but that is not one of them!
Tanner about a year old or so...hanging out with some foster kittens on a towel covered heating pad. Everyone loved when the heating pads were available.

Curled up tight in a bed...
Trying to curl up tight, but this bed is a touch small for him...

Mancats love the closet

Smokey loves a closet...I've posted about that fact here, along with a video of him opening the closet doors. On New Years eve, I had a scrapbooking workshop, so we were all in the workshop room. The closet in that room doesn't have any doors, so Smokey found a nice dark spot to lay just about all night.

He loves to seek out dark things to lay on too...Smokey is a silly goose!

Thursday in the Garden

We will do a flash back garden post as this was our garden the day after Christmas. We had a beautiful snow! For those of you in the great white north, this may not be such a big deal, but for us in the southern states it is a rarity. Especially a fluffy snow without ice!
This is the butterfly bush and you can see the low fence around our vegetable garden.
This is from the knock-out rose bush in the front yard...
We had many birds eating this day...I took this through the window...the cats loved seeing everyone out eating.
I love when the tree branches are covered in snow...so pretty!

The doves were just chilling out on the fence...
Well, there you have it...a quick view of our winter garden...more photos next week.
If you want to see more fabulous gardens check out Jonsie and the Society of Feline Gardeners.

Lasers are Activated

Perhaps if my lasers match my favorite toy, mom will get the hint and play with me...I can't look directly at her because I am ashamed to have stooped to such low levels to get play time. But sometimes a mancat has to do, what a mancat has to do, right?

Right?

Hello...tap, tap, tap...is this thing on?

*crickets*

Oh well...I tried...

Mancats are Tired

Although our mom has been home all week for Christmas and New Year, she has been slack about getting online and blogging for us. She did follow us around with the flashy box though. The first few days of her being home was quite nice...she sat and snuggled with us whenever we wanted. She offered us lots of treats and special goodies. She let us outside some when the snow melted and the temps rose. But there is only so much a mancat can stand to be bothered before he is tired!
Cousins in Aunties bed getting a good nap in...
Tanner found a nice spot near the window for a nap...
Devon and Smokey in loving their new flannel sheets Santa brought them.

We will try to get mom to blog more routinely in the new year...that will be one of our resolutions!

We also want to wish Judi, who is Sammy and Andy's mom, a very special birthday!!
